FAFSA Info
Completing the FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is a must for any student who will attend technical school, junior college, or a four-year university. Before you can complete the FAFSA, however, you must get PIN numbers for the student and parent at www.pin.ed.gov. After the FAFSA opens, generally January 1, you can start completing the FAFSA itself at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
WARNING: Make sure you don't visit a website such as fafsa.com. This commercial site will charge you to file this free application.
Beware of Scams!
Scholarship searches and financial aid applications should be free. Any service that promises or guarantees money for college should be avoided. What else should you look for? Check out the link below for other signs of a scholarship scam.
